ST. THOMAS AQUINAS’ GIZZI NAMED
ECC WOMEN’S TENNIS SCHOLAR-ATHLETE
Natural Science Major Boasts 4.0 GPA
HARRISON, NY February 13, 2007 –
Caroline Gizzi (Stony Point, NY), a sophomore natural science major
with a specialization in Chemistry at St. Thomas Aquinas College,
has been named the 2006 East Coast Conference Women’s Tennis
Scholar-Athlete, as voted by the league’s coaches. Gizzi has
a perfect 4.0 grade point average plus was named Second Team
All-Conference in 2006.
Gizzi, who played number one singles and doubles for the Lady
Spartans, earned her second consecutive team MVP award in 2006, as
well as a Second Team All-East Coast Conference selection.
“Excelling in academics and in athletics is characteristic
of many ECC Student-Athletes,” said Ed Manetta, ECC
Commissioner. “Gizzi is an excellent example of what it takes
to succeed, demonstrating dedication in both the classroom and on
the tennis court, and is a worthy recipient of this year’s
Women’s Tennis Scholar-Athlete Award.”
