WILMINGTON WOMEN ROLL PAST STAC 9-1

St. Thomas Aquinas scored their lone goal of the game in the 35th minute at Carolina Bruschi chipped one over the head of Wildcat keeper Amanda Jenkins.  That cut the Wilmington lead to 4-1, but that would be as close as the Spartans would get as the ‘Cats rattled off five unanswered goals in the second half.

St. Thomas Aquinas keeper, Patti Roth took the loss, registering three saves in goal.  Jeanette Gibson relieved Roth midway through the first half, and notched eight saves.  The Wildcats out shot the Spartans by an astounding 24-3 margin and held a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks.

The STAC women return to action on Saturday when they host Post University (CT) at 1:00pm at the North Rockland Soccer Club.
