Quinn Scores Five GoalsLady Spartans Finish in Style
The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team played their final home game of the season finishing with a 12-10 victory against Holy Family. STAC honored it's three seniors; Jen Bruen, Kate Quinn and Nakita Peters in a halftime ceremony. Bruen and Quinn finished in top fashion scoring two and five goals respectively while Peters gave a strong performance on the defensive end.
The Lady Spartans got off to a slow start as Holy Family scored four fast break goals in the opening two minutes of play. STAC came back strong with four consecutive goals of their own and eventually securing the lead just before halftime. Quinn led the Lady Spartans with a season high five goals, followed by leading scorer Bruen's two goals. Junior Lindsey Lawless along with freshman Anne Buttafuoco each added two goals while Liz Gronwoldt score one.
The Lady Spartans fought hard in the second half as they played one player short for the final twenty-seven minutes holding off the Tigers and earing the win. STAC will play their final game of the season at Adelphi on Sunday. Game time is at 12:00 PM.
