The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team won their first game of the season with a 12-6 victory over visiting Penn State Abington.  Senior Jen Bruen led the Spartans with seven goals including scoring her 100th career goal at STAC.  Lindsey Lawless added two goals and an assist for the Lady Spartans.  Anne Buttafuoco added two goals and Michelle Meier scored one for STAC.

The Lady Spartans held a 6-2 lead at the half behind four Bruen goals.  Jen Kugler recorded five saves for the Lady Spartans playing the first half in goal while Kailey Brown replaced her in the second and recorded another five saves for STAC. 

The Spartans will return to action on Saturday as they travel to Philadelphia University.
