Lady Spartans Fall to Warriors

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's basketball team dropped a road game to Nyack College 62-51.  The Lady Spartans, who have struggled offensively in their first two games, received eleven points from freshmen Sally O'Donnell.  STAC has not been able to get into a scoring rhythm, shooting 25 percent from the field and a mere 17 percent from behind the arc (4-23).

Junior captain Kaitlin Page led the Spartans in scoring at the half with five points.  Page finished with ten points and two steals.    Sophomore Theresa Dowling had a team high six rebounds while chipping in seven points.

Nyack's Shelly Yount and Victoria Sweet proved to be too strong on the boards as they recorded eleven and ten rebounds to match their nineteen and fifteen points respectively.  The Warriors out-rebounded the smaller Lady Spartans 58-39 who were forced to go to a more guard oriented line-up due to injury and inexperience.

The Lady Spartans will be back in action for their first home game of the season on Saturday.  Tip off is slated for 1:00.
