Lady Spartans Fall to NYIT, 59-47

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's basketball team dropped a road game to NYIT, 59-47.  STAC was led by Briana Sloper and Colleen Vogel who scored eighteen and fifteen points respectively.  Sloper added  a team high eight rebounds while fellow rookie Kim Vareles pulled down seven boards.

The Lady Spartans shot a mere 29.3 percent from the field compared to NYIT's 43.6 percent.  Each team was plagued with turnovers (26 a piece), but the Bears dominated STAC on the boards 40-26.  Dena McKinney led the way for NYIT with twenty-three points and twelve rebounds.  Madison Robertson added fifteen points and eight boards. 

The Lady Spartans will be back in action for their final home game on Saturday against Molloy College.  STAC is currently in eighth place in the ECC and a win on Saturday will secure a playoff birth.  Saturday will represent senior day for the Lady Spartans.
