Lady Spartans Fall to Goldey-Beacom

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's basketball team dropped a 57-48 decision to non-conference opponent Goldey-Beacom on Saturday.  Junior Colleen Vogel led the Lady Spartans with fifteen points.  Freshman Briana Sloper was the only other Lady Spartan to reach double figures chipping in with eleven points and eight rebounds.

Despite holding the Lightning to 29% from the floor, STAC was unable to overcome the deficit created by 31 turnovers.  The Lady Spartans held the lead for most of the second half which included a nine point advantage with 8:24 remaining in the game.  However, Goldey-Beacom was able to hold them to just one point over a four minute span tying the game at 46.  The Lady Spartans outrebounded Goldey-Beacom 46-34 but could not capitalize as the Lightning outscored the Spartans 11-2 in the final four minutes of play. 

STAC will travel to the University of Sciences in Philadelphia for a 6:00 game on Tuesday.
