Spartans Have Success at Penn Invational
The St. Thomas Aquinas track and field team competed in Philadelphia at the Penn Invitational this past weekend. Chris Muniz, (Suffern, NY), took 3rd place in both the 200 and 400 events. His 400 time of 48.20 took third in a big field of Division I competitors and also qualified him for IC4A Championships in Princeton. He also competed in the 200 where he ran 21.98 which is another new school record for Muniz and the first time for him in breaking the 22.00 barrier. Other notable performances came from Einar Brissing and Jeannette Gibson. Brissing ran the 1500 meters in a time of 4:10.44 which is one of his better times of the year. Gibson took 5th in the discus with a throw of 121-08.
