STAC @ ARMY OPEN - January 26, 2008 @ West Point
The Spartan Striders of Saint Thomas Aquinas College kicked off their 2008 indoor season by participating in the Army Open @ West Point. Competing against perennial D-III schools such as Springfield College, Ithaca College, Middlebury College , RPI, and host, Army, as well as 10 other schools, the mighty Spartans held their own and even impressed their counterparts in a number of events. On the men's side, Sophomore Chris Muniz once again did his thing in the sprints by winning the 200 & 400 meter dash. Sophomore Vinny Modafferi just missed winning the 1000, as he was out-leaned at the finish line by a member of the Army squad. On the women's side Lisa Urnaitis started off where she finished 5 weeks ago by running an identical time in the 1000 meter. Amanda Szorentini made a long awaited return by running in the 400. Next up is the DeSchriver Invitational hosted by East Stroudsburg University on February 2nd .
