Jeanette Gibson get sets for top competition this weekend
Gibson came to STAC from North Rockland High School where she was a duel sport athlete in track & field and soccer. "Jeanette is a gifted athlete, she is very strong in the field events and she is a talented soccer goalie as well," commented head track & field coach Dave Billings. When asked why she chose STAC over other schools Gibson credited the ability to participate in both sports, the strong business major and the affordability as the determining factors in her decision.
Gibson, an All-County selection in track & field both her junior and senior years at North Rockland, will face her best competition yet competing against top throwers from a wide range of colleges and universities, many of them being Division I athletes. Gibson is up for the lofty challenge and is eager to put her skills to the test. "I feel ready for this weekend, I am looking forward to going against Division I athletes," commented Gibson.
This will be the last event for Gibson on the season. "I believe pushing her to go up against the top females in this field will help her for the future," said Billings.
