Pioneers Beat Lady Spartans

 The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team lost at C.W. Post today falling 8-0 in the first game and 6-1 in game two.  Freshman Devin Meikle went 3-for-5 for the day including an RBI.

Sharis Ruiz and Meikle were the only two Spartans to get a hit as Sarah Kiser pitched all 5 innings in the shutout.  Maura Power gave up 8 hits in 4 innings picking up the loss.  Nicole Hagenah hit a 3 run homer in the bottom of the 5th for the Pioneers.

Meikle went 2-for-3 in the second game batting in Alyssa Catalsdo who led off with a double.  The Pioneers used a strong first inning scoring 3 runs and added 3 more in the bottom of the 4th.  Megan Sweezy went 6 innings giving up 6 hits and striking out 2 in the loss.
