Sfraga Pitches Shutout

The St. Thomas Aquinas softball team split with Adelphi University in Saturday afternoon's double header.  Senior pitcher Stehpanie Sfraga pitched a seven inning shutout in game one striking out eight batters.  Michelle Sasso had a RBI single in the second inning to score Joy Ferriello.  Angela Squillini hit a RBI double in the sixth to score Jess Rickle and secure the 2-0 win.

In the second game of the day Adelphi pitcher Leighann Bell kept the Lady Spartans bats quiet giving up only two hits and striking out five batters.  Ferriello and Kelsey George each had a hit for the Lady Spartans who were unable to score falling 6-0 to the Panthers.  The Lady Spartans will face Felician College on Sunday.
