Spartans Shutout Greyhounds, 2-0
The St. Thomas Aquinas men's soccer team beat Assumption College, 2-0 in Wednesday's non-conference road game. Daniel Davren had a goal and an assist for the Spartans while Joseph Connolly added a goal and Sean Reily had an assist. Andrew Tartararecorded his second shutout of the season with 14 saves for the game.
Both of the Spartan goals came late in the first half as Davren assisted Stevens goal at the 38:41 mark. Davren scored a few minutes later off a Reily corner kick to give STAC a 2-0 lead at the half. "The first half was hard against the ran and wind but we played tough and deserved our goals, we controlled the play for most of the second half and limited them to long range balls that our keeper easily controlled." commented head coach Graham Brown.
The Spartans are now 2-0-1 and will travel to New Haven on Sunday for a 1:00 game.
