Men's Soccer Upsets # 6 NYIT

    The STAC men's soccer team pulled off, arguably, the biggest upset in their history with a 3 - 1 win oner NYIT, the # 6 ranked team in the nation. Gerald Jones' goal on an assist from Steven Ocampo a the 80 minute mark was the game winner. 

    After a scoreless 1st half, Jose Osario broke the ice with the Spartans 1st goal with 5 minutes gone in the 2nd half. NYIT came back to tie the game but with 10 minutes left in the game, Jones' scored for the Spartans. Lukasz Hausner added a 3rd score for the Spartans soon after to seal the victory.

    The men's team returns to action on Saturday when they host the University of the District of Columbia at 2:00pm. The game will be played at the North Rockland Soccer Complex in Theils.
