Spartans Drop Game to Concordia, 60-44
The St. Thomas Aquinas men's basketball team dropped a 60-44 game to visiting Concordia College in Saturday afternoon's game. Freshman Ra'Shad James led STAC with thirteen points and three rebounds. Linton Brown added ten points for STAC on 5-6 shooting from the field.
STAC started the game ahead as Chris Williams sank two free throws to give STAC a 10-7 lead at 14:16. Concordia's Kenny Gaskins hit a three to tie the game and the Clippers Albans Shala hit another three to take the lead that they would not relinquish. Both Gaskins and Shala hit two three pointers for the game as the Clippers went 9-19 from behind the arc. Samuel Batista had the hot hand for Concordia draining 5-9 from downtown. Batista finished with a game high nineteen points.
Chris Williams and Jamie Blanchard each grabbed six rebounds for STAC as the were edged on the boards 36-31.
STAC will be back in action on Wednesday as the travel to Bridgeport for a 7:00 game.
