Spartans Season Comes to an End at Dowling, 79-47
The St. Thomas Aquinas men's basketball team lost to Dowling in the quarterfinal round of the ECC playoffs, 79-47. The Spartans finished the year with a record of 10-17 and 8-10 in the ECC. STAC was led by senior Akeem Comas who scored thirteen points and grabbed three boards. Comas finished his career with a total of 1,212 points and 503 rebounds. He led the Spartans this season with an average of 14.3 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game.
Freshman Ra'Shad James added eight points in twenty-two minutes. Both Comas and James received their All Conference Awards prior to last nights contest. James the ECC Co-Rookie Of The Year finished as STAC's third leading scorer with 8.1 points per game. Senior Chris Williams added two steals and two points for the game. Williams finished his career at STAC with a total of 931 points and 307 assists. Ahmed Allen added seven points for STAC in fifteen minutes off the bench. Allen averaged 7.4 points per game for the Spartans this season.
Dowling was led by David Seagers and Josh Lowe who each had eighteen points. Seagers also added a team high nine rebounds. Dowling outrebounded the Spartans 31-17.
