Spartans Fall to CW Post
The St. Thomas Aquinas men's basketball team lost to nationally ranked CW Post, 96-66. The Spartans were led by freshman Ra'Shad James who scored a career high seventeen points. James also grabbed five rebounds and dished out two assists. Ahmed Allen continued his strong play inside scoring fifteen points shooting 6-8 from the field. Chris Williams added eleven points for the Spartans while Brian Harnischfeger dished out a season high seven assists.
Allen made a jumper to bring STAC within three with 5:29 to go in the first half but the Pioneers finished with an 20-3 run to give them a twenty point advantage at the break. CW Post maintained a double digit lead throughout the second half behind Nicholas Carter's twenty-three points and seven rebounds. Jonathan Schmidt added fifteen for the Pioneers while James Tchana pulled down a game high nine boards.
The Spartans will return to action on Saturday as they host Queens College. Tip off is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
