STAC Men Stun ECC Leader C. W. Post, 87 - 75
The STAC Spartan Basketball team handed the ECC leading C. W. Post Pioneers their first conference loss of the season with a 87 - 75 win in Aquinas Hall.
Five Spartans scored in double figures for STAC. Junior Akeem Comas led the way with 22 points. Junior Chris Williams added 16 points, junior Jelani Winfield dropped in 15 points. Seniors Ra Chase and Willis Kettrell added 12 and 10 points, repectively for Coach Dennis O'Donnell's team.
The 10th ranked Pioneers committed 21 turnovers compered to the Spartans 14 on the evening. STAC was leading 37 - 28 at the half and never allowed C. W. Post to catch up in the 2nd period.
The Spartans record stands at 13 - 11, overall and 9 - 8 in the ECC. C. W. Post's record is 21 - 3, overall and 16 - 1 in the ECC.
The men return to action on Saturday when they host Mercy
College at 3:00pm.
