Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College men's ice hockey team will participate in the Metropolitan Collegiate Hockey Conference (MCHC) playoffs on Saturday, February 21. The Spartans, who are seeded #11, will travel upstate to play Union College, the #6 seed, at 9:15 p.m. at Messa Ice Rink located on the campus. St. Thomas Aquinas College has a 6-9 MCHC record while the Dutchmen have 10-6 mark.
With a win, our Spartans will advance to the second round of the playoffs and travel to take on Southern Connecticut State University, the #2 seed on Sunday, February 22 at 8 p.m. The MCHC Semi-finals and Championship will be played on Saturday, February 28 at 5 and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 1 at 5:30 p.m. in the Prudential Center (Newark, N.J.).
This is the second meeting of the year for the Spartans and Dutchmen. Union College defeated St. Thomas Aquinas, 7-4 at the Palisades Center.
Bus transportation will be provided to the game for any spectator who would like to attend. The cost per person will be $20. Space is limited so contact the Office of Student Life at 845-398-4051 to reserve a seat. Bus will depart at 5:30 p.m.
