Spartans Finish 2nd at Concordia Spring Invite
The St. Thomas Aquinas Men's golf team finished 2nd at the Concordia College Spring Fling. The event was a 1 round tournament hosted at Phillip J. Rotella Golf Course. Leading the Spartans was junior Mike Gunderson who carded a solid round of 73.
After playing his first 15 holes at level par, Gunderson had minor hiccups on the 15th and 16th holes making a double bogey and bogey leaving him 3 over par with two holes to play. Gunderson promptly birdied 17 and 18 to get back to +1 on his day. Senior Chris Fitzpatrick posted a solid round of 74 although he struggled with is putting all day. John Casey and Tommy Linehan rounded out the team scoring posting rounds of 77 respectively. The Spartans shot a team score of 301, but were edged out by nationally ranked Skidmore College who shot a score of 300.
