Men’s Golf
Team heats up frigid LeMoyne Invitational
The Men’s Golf Team came from 9 strokes
back to win the 10th Annual LeMoyne Spring Invitational by 4
strokes over regional powers such as Bryant and Pace University.
Led by Freshman Chris Fitzpatrick’s 74, the Spartans shot 308
on day 1. Brian Viola and Nick Zolotas contributed with 77’s
while sophomore Sean Campbell and Jordan Perretz shot 80 and 81
respectively. Although the team played well, they trailed 5
regional teams.
Amidst 10-20mph winds, temperatures in the 30’s and snow falling, the Spartans found a way to get hot. Without any practice swings or putts, the team managed to shoot a season low 5-over par 293. Senior Jordan Perretz rebounded from a sluggish first round with a solid day including 18 pars good for 72. Chris Fitzpatrick continued his tremendous play this spring posting an even par 72 as well. Nick Zolotas and Sean Campbell rounded out the Spartan’s brilliant round with rounds of 74 and 75 while junior Brian Viola had a stellar round of 76. Individually the entire team finished in the top 20 out of 72 golfers;
