The Spartans finished the 2007-2008 regular season with a disappointing 5th place finish among 13 regional schools at the American International Spring Invite held at Springfield Country Club in Massachusetts. In their final tune-up for the NCAA Super Regional tournament, the Spartans were sluggish out of the gate shooting an uncharacteristically high team score of 324. Freshman Chris Fitzpatrick was the low Spartan with 79 while Jordan Perretz and Pat Schwarze both carded scores of 80. Sean Campbell and Brian Viola round out the day's scoring with 85 and 86 respectively.
Day 2 brought better scores and left the Spartans eager for the NCAA Super Regionals. Leading the day 2 scoring was Brian Viola who improved 13 strokes to fire a 1-over par 73. Chris Fitzpatrick improved his score 4 strokes and shot 75. Senior Jordan Perretz shot a 79 while Sean Campbell posted an 80.
The Spartans look to win the first NCAA Super Regional on May 4-7 at Back Creek Golf Club in Middletown, DE.
