Spartans Split with #10 Ranked Franklin Pierce

The St. Thomas Aquinas baseball team split with #10 ranked Franklin Pierce University while in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  Robert Franked pitched 7.2 innings, yielding 1 run and striking out 7 batters in STAC's 1-0 win.  The Spartans fell 3-2 in the second game.

In game one, Nick Barbalato led off the top of the 6th with a single and later scored on a wild pitch.  Mark Fochesato went 1.1 innings, picking up 3 strike outs to earn the save as STAC held on for the win. 

In game two, the Spartans fell behind 3-0, but tried to rally back scoring a run in the 6th and 7th, but fell short. In the 6th Mike Walraven had an RBI single scoring Barbalato.   Dan McDermott's shot to 3rd was able to score Mike Apreda but the Spartans could not close the gap.
