Spartans Fall to Knights, 10-4

The St. Thomas Aquinas baseball team lost at Queens, 10-4.  George Wargo went 2-for-4 for the Spartans and Mike Apreda was 1-for-4 with 2 RBI's. 

Down 6-0 the Spartans put up a four run fifth inning beginning with a lead off double by Wargo.  Matt Marotta walked and Dan McDermott hit an RBI single with runners on the corners.  Apreda added a 2-RBI single and Kevin Ryan hit a sac fly to score the Spartans fourth run. 

Queens added two runs in the sixth and two in the eighth to keep its distance and pick up the win.  The Spartans went 3-2 against the Knights in the five game series.  STAC will travel to St. Rose on Tuesday for a 3:30 game.
