Spartans Drop opening Game to Felician, 1-0

The St. Thomas Aquinas baseball team battled through 14 innings before falling to Felician, 1-0 on Tuesday.  Spartan pitcher Chris Schoepe took the loss despite escaping a second-and-third none-out jam in the 13th.

The Spartan batters had six hits to Felicians seven, including two from Andrew Ahn.  Starting pitcher Matt Matkovich gave up two hits and had four strike outs for STAC.  The Falcon's Phil Messerian hit a single to left field in the 14th to score Marcos Torres and win the game.

The Spartans are scheduled to play at Adelphi this weekend.
