The St. Thomas Aquinas baseball team won a 4-3 game in 10-innings over C.W. Post today.  Earlier in the day STAC lost 6-5 as the Pioneers came from behind late in the game.

The Spartans got on the score board 1-0 as Kevin Ryan hit a double down the right field line.  Ryan scored on a single by Matt Smith.   However, C.W. Post answered quickly as they put up four runs in the bottom of the first.  STAC chipped away with another run in the second on a sacrifice fly RBI from Mike Apreda, and pulled ahead in the fifth inning as they posted three runs, highlighted by a two-run double by George Wargo.

Down 5-4 with two outs in the bottom of the sixth, the Pioneers' Kyle Deam was hit by a pitch.  Casey McKay doubled to center field in the next at bat, scoring Dean with the tying run.  Zack Graczyk followed with a single to right center that plated McKay as the go-ahead run.

In the second game of the day, STAC started off strong in the first inning as an RBI double, a passed ball, and an infield throwing error accounted for the three runs.  The Pioneers came away with a run in the bottom of the inning and added another run in the third.  C.W. Post tied the game, 3-3 in the fifth and the game went into extra innings.   The Spartans' Joe DePool scored on a suicide squeeze by Andrew Ahn for the go-ahead run in the top of the tenth.

STAC will play C.W. Post tomorrow at 1 PM at the Vet.
