Connors, McDermott, Smith, LaMarr and Barbalato Recieve All-Conference Honors
St. Thomas Aquinas College senior Kevin Connors was named to the East Coast Conference First Team as a designated hitter. Third baseman Dan McDermott was named to the Second Team along with fellow classmate Matt Smith. Starting Pitcher Brian LaMarr was a Third Team selection as was freshman Nick Barbalato.
Kevin Connors - First Team DH
Connors batted .284 with thirty-one hits and eighteen RBI. Connors had a team high on base percentage of .428. The DH had one homerun on the year, he walked fifteen times and was hit by a pitch thirteen times.
Dan McDermott - Second Team Third Base
The sophomore is batting .288 has thirty-six hits on the season and nineteen RBI. McDermott has three double and one triple for the year and a fielding percentage of .911.
Matt Smith - Secon Team Outfield
Smith has a batting average of .322 with thirty-eight hits and thirteen RBI. The outfielder hit seven doubles and one homerun during the season. He has thirteen stolen bases and a fielding percentage of .962. Smith was named ECC Player of the Week on 4/20.
Brian LaMarr - Third Team Pitcher
LaMarr has a ERA of 3.25 and is currently 5-4 for the year. The right handed pitcher has pitched 52.2 innings, striking out a team high thirty-five batters.
Nick Barbalato - Third Tean Outfield
The rookie had a batting average of .291 with a team high forth-three hits and twenty RBI. Barbalato hit four triples, three doubles and fifteen stolen bases for the season. He was named the ECC Rookie of the Week three times.
