Matkovich Throws Complete Game, Spartans Down Queens 3-1

With the three runs in the 5th the Spartans snapped an 18 inning scoreless streak for Queens pitcher Brian Friedman. Matt Smith continued to spark the Spartan Offense reaching base on all of his five at-bats, collecting two hits, an RBI, and a run.
Dan McDermott also had an RBI single in the inning. Vin Malzahn and Fernando Peralta contributed two singles each. Peralta also stole two bases and had a RBI taken away after a STAC baserunner missed third base enroute to scoring.
