Merrimack Takes Three from the Spartans
The St. Thomas Aquinas baseball team lost to Merrimack College in their non-conference match up in Palm Beach, FL. The Spartans dropped an 8-7 decision in eleven innings on the first meeting between the two squads. Later in the week STAC lost 5-3 and 5-4 in a double header.

Fernando Peralta was 2-5 with four stolen bases as the Spartans took the Warriors into extra innings. Freshman Tyler Savin and Junior Matt Matkovich had solid outings on the mound for STAC.

Matt Marrotta was 2-4 with a double for the Spartans.
Game 3 Recap: STAC 4 Merrimack 5
Dan McDermott was 2-4 with an RBI for the Spartans. STAC
led 4-2 before the Warriors scored two in the sixth and one in
the seventh on a walk-off hit from centerfielder Jeff
Bercume. Matt Macckovaich pitched 5.1 innings giving up
four runs on six hits.
