Mercy Edges Spartans 1-0

The St. Thomas Aquinas baseball team dropped a 1-0 game to visiting Mercy College.  The Spartans had seven hits for the game and left ten runners stranded.  Dan McDermott was 3-4 at the plate including a lead off single in the ninth.  Tyler Savin pitched seven innings for STAC giving up the lone run of the game and striking out four batters.

Mercy's Charles Dehart led off the third with a single and latter scored off a Michael Ferrante single to put the Mavericks on the board.

The Spartans will be back in action when they face cross town rival Dominican College on Thursday for a 3:00 game.
