Malzhan & Connors Lead STAC to 16-2 Win Over Briarcliffe

Junior Vin Malzahn had two hits and drove in four runs for the Spartans.   Kevin Connors belted a three run homer to pace a 16-hit Spartan offensive attack in which twelve different STAC hitters collected at least one hit. The Briarcliffe bats were kept silent by starting pitcher Scott Sadowksi who threw six scoreless innings.

Other offensive contributors were Jon Garvey who had a 2-RBI single in the 7th. Matt Smith had two hits, two RBI, and scored two runs. Joe Antenucci scored four runs, and Nick Barbalato went 3-for-5 with a run and a stolen base. Reliever Ken Frawley pitched a scoreless 7th & 8th inning.

The Spartans have another quick turn around as they face CW Post tomorrow at the Vet.  Game time is slated for 3:00 PM.
