Right hander Joel Violette took a no-hitter into the 7th and final inning enroute to a 3-1 victory over St. Rose in the 1st game of a double header. The Spartans would go on to take the 2nd game 5-3.

For the game Violette struck out 5 and held St. Rose hitless until a swinging bunt was scored a single in the 7th. John Mazzello (Hyde Park, NY) led the Spartan offense going 3-for-3 with a stolen base. Chris Zapata (Stamford, CT) and Joe Antenucci had RBI singles and Joe Giustino had an RBI double. Kevin Connors added a double and scored a run. In helping his own cause, Violette started two 1-6-3 double plays. Della Monica picked up his 2nd save of the season.

In the 2nd game the Spartans had 11 hits with all nine starters having at least one hit. Freshman, Mark Fochesato (Pine Bush, NY) picked up the save working 2 2/3 innings, striking out 5 and allowing only one hit.
