CONNOR's 2-RUN HOMER LEADS STAC OVER POST

Boca Raton, Florida - Sophomore Kevin Connors (W. Babylon, NY) went 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs including a 2-run homer in the 2nd inning which gave the Spartans a 2-0 lead of which they never relinquished enroute to an 8-2 victory over Post University in Boca Raton, Florida.

 

Hitting from the lead-off spot, sophomore outfielder, Pat Murray (Demarest, NJ) sparked the Spartan offense with 3 hits, 3 stolen bases, and 2 runs scored. Sophomore outfielder, Fernando Peralta (Pine Bush, NY) went 3-for-4, scored twice, drove in a run, and swiped 2 bases. Freshman thirdbaseman, Dan McDermott (Levittown, NY) went 2-for-5, with 2 runs, and an RBI.

 

Junior pitcher Scott Sadowski (Bethpage, NY) picked up the victory in relief, hurling 3 shut-out innings and allowing only one hit while striking out three.

 

The Spartans collected 7 hits to the Eagles 5 hits, but could only plate 2 runs in a 4-2 loss in game 2. All Post runs came in an 4th inning as a result of two walks, two HBP, two passed balls, an a error.
