The Spartans lost an 11-9 see-saw battle against ECC rival Dowling College. STAC erased deficits in the 2nd and 5th innings, and tied the game in the 8th, but spotty pitching and errors proved too costly for the Spartans to overcome. STAC managed 12 hits, but Dowling surpassed that with 14.

John Mazzello gave the Spartans the lead with a 2-run homer to right in the 2nd inning. RBIs from Dan McDermott, Kevin Connors, and Dave Schwartz gave STAC a 7-5 lead in the 5th. They would add to the lead with an RBI single from Fernando Peralta and a sacrifice fly RBI from McDermott in the 8th , but Dowling scored one in the 6th, three times in 8th and twice in the 9th for the victory.

Mazzello went 3-for-6, HR, 2 Runs, and 2 RBIs. Peralta went 3-for-5, 1 RBI, 1 Run. Schwartz and McDermott had 2 RBIs each and Pat Murray and Joe Antenucci had two hits each.
