GAME 1

STAC split a double header with Bloomfield College, losing the first game 4-3 in extra innings and winning the second 6-3 in darkness shortened game. 

The Spartans staked themselves to 2-0 lead in 3rd off and RBI single from freshman Joe Antenucci (Emerson, NJ) and a RBI walk from catcher Dave Schwartz (Nanuet, NY). The lead was quickly erased by two Spartan fielding errors and scored stood at 2-2 after 3 innings. Down 3-2 in the 6th, the Spartans would even up the game with a 2-out solo homerun from Ramon Cueto (Bronx, NY). Two more Spartan errors in extra innings would the game-winning run to score in the 8th inning.

Chris Zapata (Stamford, CT) led the Spartan hitting attack, going 2-for-3, with 3 stolen bases.

GAME 2

In game 2, freshman pitcher Mike Aviles (Suffern, NY) held Bloomfield scoreless until the 5th inning. Reliever Scott Sadowski came on to pick up the save and the preserve the freshman's first collegiate victory.

Freshman outfielder Jonathan Proscia collected two hits, a walk, and scored a run. Zapata scored twice, swiped a base, and scored a run. Vin Malzahn (Port Jervis, NY) added an RBI fly, walk, and a run scored.
