Brooklyn, N.Y. - Returning to the Empire State following their four-day California road trip, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Volleyball team took care of business in the Big Apple with a dominant 3-0 sweep of Long Island University on Tuesday evening at the Steinberg Wellness Center.
STAC moves to 1-2 on the season, with LIU dropping their first match of the season to go to 0-1.

How it Happened
- As a team, St. Thomas Aquinas recorded 38 kills compared to Long Island University's 45. The Spartans also had 8.5 blocks and 36 assists, while the Sharks tallied 7.5 blocks and 40 assists.
- STAC outhit LIU by a .356 to .260 margin for the match.
- Kyran Versteegen paced the Spartans offense with a team-high 10 kills. He also registered a serve assist, five digs, two solo blocks and two block assists.
- Marcus Franck tallied a team-high 24 serve assists (8.0 assists/set). Franck also accumulated a five kills, a service ace and seven digs for the maroon and gold.
- Ylan Tapper picked up nine kills, six digs and a block assist in the match.
- Jakob Schwarz also racked up six kills, along with three serve assists, two digs and two block assists on the evening.
- Luis Grath also accumulated six kills against the Sharks, with a serve assist, a dig, a solo block and a block assist.
- David Weiss put together a two kill, two service ace, one solo block and three block assist effort on Tuesday.
