Men’s Volleyball Drops Road Match at D’Youville, 3-0

Buffalo, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Volleyball team opened up its weekend trip to Western New York with a 3-0 loss to D'Youville University on Friday evening at Saints Center.

STAC drops to 4-8 on the year, while D'Youville moves to 2-9.

How it Happened

  • As a team, D'Youville recorded 35 kills compared to St. Thomas Aquinas' 33. The Saints also had 10.5 blocks and 33 assists, while the Spartans tallied four blocks and 30 assists.
  • D'Youville outhit STAC by a .257 to .187 margin for the match.
  • Kyran Versteegen paced the Spartans offense with a match-high 15 kills. He also registered five digs.
  • Marcus Franck tallied a team-high 25 serve assists (8.33 assists/set). Franck also accumulated five digs and a block assist for the maroon and gold.
  • Luis Grath picked up six kills, a dig and a block assist on Friday evening.
  • Alan Santiago racked up four kills, two digs and two block assists against the Saints.
  • Jakob Schwarz contributed four kills, a serve assist and two digs to the match.
  • David Weiss accumulated two kills and three block assists.
  • Joaquim Petegrosso put together a two kill and one block assist effort for the Spartans.
