STAC Men's Lacrosse Shows Fight in 20-10 Loss to Georgian Court

Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Lacrosse team continued their four-match homestand, hosting Georgian Court University on Wednesday afternoon at Spartan Field. Despite the Spartans leading by two goals at the end of the first quarter, the visiting Lions outscored the maroon and gold 17-5 the rest of the way to win 20-10.

STAC falls to 2-6 on the season, while Georgian Court moves to 3-6.

Wilson Ingalls, Lou Takacs, Cam Wallace and led the Spartans' offense with two goals apiece on the afternoon, while teammates Christian Rodriguez (1 assist), Nicola Greer (1 assist), Max Benoit and Jeremy Poggi talled a goal apiece for the maroon and gold. Goalie Hayden Gaudette (L, 2-6) got the start between the pipes for STAC and stopped 12 of 32 shots faced.

Meanwhile, Georgian Court was led by Harrison Jordan, who tallied seven goals and an assist, while Brodie Seaborn added four goals and two helpers. In addition, Tyler Burns (2 goals, 1 assist), Vincent Burns (2 goals), Zach Myers (2 goals), Drew Barocas (1 goal, 3 assists), Sebastien Castillo (1 goal) and Konnor Forlai (1 goal) added to the totals on the scoresheet for the visiting Lions. Goalie Vincent Burkhart (W, 3-6) stopped 7 of 17 shots fired his way to earn the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

St. Thomas Aquinas came out sharp, building a 5-3 lead after one quarter behind two goals from Lou Takacs and additional tallies from Cam Wallace, Christian Rodriguez, and Jeremy Poggi. Georgian Court stayed within striking distance thanks to goals from Tyler Burns, Zach Myers, and Drew Barocas.

Momentum shifted quickly in the second quarter. Georgian Court erupted for six goals while holding the Spartans to just one. Tyler Burns clawed his team within one early in the stanza, and Harrison Jordan took over from there, scoring three times in the period. Brodie Seaborn and Vincent Burns capped the run as the Lions surged ahead 9-6 at halftime.

Georgian Court maintained control in the third quarter, extending the lead to 14-10. Harrison Jordan continued his standout performance, while Seaborn and Konnor Forlai added key goals. St. Thomas Aquinas briefly threatened, closing within two goals behind Wilson Ingalls and Max Benoit, but the Lions responded with late goals to regain momentum.

The fourth quarter was all Georgian Court. The Lions shut out the Spartans and poured in six more goals, including a natural hat trick from Brodie Seaborn and multiple scores from Harrison Jordan. Zach Myers and Sebastien Castillo added late insurance to seal the 10-goal victory.
