Women's Volleyball Falls in Conference Opener at Roberts Wesleyan, 3-0

Rochester, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Volleyball team made the trek up to Western New York to open their East Coast Conference schedule, taking on Roberts Wesleyan University at the Voller Athletic Center on Sunday. In a straight sets sweep the host Redhawks defeated the Spartans 3-0.

STAC falls to 3-8 overall and 0-1 in ECC play, while D'Youville moves to 1-13 and 1-1.

How it Happened

  • As a team, St. Thomas Aquinas recorded 32 kills compared to Roberts Wesleyan's 29. The Spartans also had 3 blocks and 30 assists, while the Redhawks tallied 13 blocks and 26 assists.
  • Roberts Wesleyan outhit STAC by a .140 to .080 margin for the match.
  • Adriana Zarceno paced the Spartans offense with a team-high ten kills on Sunday. She also registered one serve assist, eight digs and three block assists.
  • Leila Noboa Santos tallied 28 serve assists (9.33 assists/set). Naboa Santos also accumulated two kills and six digs for the maroon and gold.
  • Chloe Weiting picked up ten kills, a service ace and eight digs against the Redhawks.
  • Kamila Zoe Rosa tallied seven kills, two digs and two block assists on the afternoon.

  • Emma Carolan contributed with a team-high ten digs.
