St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Volleyball players Anna Gazzerro and Adriana Zarceno were each selected for the East Coast Conference's weekly awards on Monday, following the Spartans 1-1 weekend against Buffalo-area teams, Daemen University (L, 3-2) and D'Youville University (W, 3-2).
Gazzerro was tabbed as the ECC Setter of the Week, while Adriana Zarceno scored Rookie of the Week honors.
Gazzerro (Padova, Italy) totaled 97 serve assists for an average of 9.7 assists per set, a kill, a service ace, 23 digs, and two block assists over two ECC matches against the Wildcats and Saints last weekend.
Zarceno (Oviedo Asturias, Spain) recorded 51 kills (.260 hitting percentage), two service aces, and 18 digs across two matches in 10 total sets in conference matches against Daemen on Saturday and D'Youville on Sunday.
STAC (4-12, 1-3 ECC) heads to Long Island for an ECC matchup with Molloy University on Wednesday, October 15. The Spartans and Lions are set to do battle inside of Bob Houlihan Gymnasium at 7:00 p.m.
