#4 STAC Faces #5 Adelphi in NCAA Division II Women's Tennis East Regional

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Tennis team has earned the #4 seed in the upcoming 2025 NCAA Division II Women's Tennis Championship East Regional, and will take on #5 seeded Adelphi University on the road at the University of New Haven in West Haven, Conn. on Monday, May 12 at noon.

The Spartans will be looking to advance to championship finals for a third consecutive season.

STAC finished the 2024-2025 regular season with a 13-5 overall record and a 4-1 ECC mark. The maroon and gold made its fourth East Coast Conference Women's Tennis Championship finals appearance in the last five seasons, falling to Queens College 4-1.

The Spartans and Panthers (10-6, 7-2 NE10) faced off against each other just once during the 2024-25 regular season, with STAC defeating Adelphi, 5-2 at the Riley Family Tennis Courts. The squads have faced each other eleven times going back to the 2002-03 season. Adelphi currently holds a 7-4 advantage in those matchups, but St. Thomas Aquinas has taken the last four meetings.

Last Meeting: April 22, 2025 - STAC 5/Adelphi 2

Preliminary Round matches will begin on May 12-13 at seeds University of New Haven (Charger Courts - West Haven, Conn.) and Wilmington University (Delcastle Tennis Center - Wilmington, Del.). The winner of #4 St. Thomas Aquinas vs. #5 Adelphi will play #1 New Haven, while the winner of #3 Wilmington vs. #2 Queens automatically advances to the finals.

The winners of each regional bracket will advance to the 2025 NCAA Women's Tennis Championship Finals, which will take place May 21-25 at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Rollins College and the Greater Orlando Sports Commission will serve as hosts.
