STAC Women's Tennis Vaults to #26, Men #53 in Latest ITA National Rankings

Sparkill, N.Y. - On Thursday, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association released its latest Men's and Women's National polls, with both St. Thomas Aquinas College teams holding spots in their respective rankings.

On the women's side, the Lady Spartans vaulted up to the #26 position in the national rankings, with the University of the District of Columbia and Queens College joining the maroon and gold as the only other ECC teams to make the poll, at #21 and #60, respectively. STAC currently holds a 16-2 record with victories over New Haven, Jefferson, Le Moyne, Daemen, D'Youville, Queens, Dominican, West Chester, Molloy, Edinboro, Quincy, Rockhurst, Bentley, Division I Merrimack, Wilmington and Chestnut Hill. The team's only defeats come at the hands of UDC in the regular season and Queens College in the ECC Tournament.

Meanwhile, the Spartan men's squad slipped back to #53 in the nation, with Queens College as the only other ECC team to appear in the poll at #59. STAC currently holds a 10-5 record with victories over Jefferson, U. Sciences, West Chester, Saint Michael's, Manhattanville, Adelphi, Edinboro, Quincy, Bentley and District of Columbia. The team's blemishes come via Division I opponents, Fairleigh Dickinson and North Dakota, along with Rockhurst, Queens and Chestnut Hill.
