Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Soccer team returns to action for the 2025 season with big expectations, as the program looks to make a second straight trip to the postseason. The Spartans were selected to finish sixth in the annual East Coast Conference preseason coaches poll released in late August.
In 2024, STAC finished with an overall record of 3-10-3 and a 2-4-1 mark in ECC play, allowing the Spartans to capture to the program's first-ever playoff berth.
The Spartans return 14 players from a season ago, as Haley Liss (5 GP, 1-2, 1.72 GAA & .700 SV%), Serena De Astis (DNP), Sarai Rodriguez (16 GP, 1 G & 3 A), Heidi Torre (1 GP), Sophie Stanley (16 GP, 1 G & 2 A), Nicole Savage (16 GP), Kaitlyn Maguire (16 GP, 2 G & 2 A), Ninni Ringstad (16 GP, 2 G & 1 A), Lilly Lawson (14 GP), Britany Delao Romero (8 GP), Ashley Argento (15 GP), Larymar Herrera (5 GP), Madison Powers (14 GP) and Catalena Robson (14 GP, 2-8-3, 2.81 GAA & .632 SV%) will make up the core returning to Sparkill this fall.
A good mix of freshmen and upperclassmen in; Elizabeth Glover (Fr.|GK|Colchester, Conn.), Claudia Vincent (So.|B|Sydney, Australia|Webber International University), Emma Burnham (Fr.|B|Eastham, England), Katie Neilson (Sr.|M|Edinboro, Scotland|Monroe University), Amelia Hammond (So.|F|Chichester, England|Southeastern University), Ana Marta Almeida (Fr.|M|Porto, Portugal), Bianca Bellino (Fr.|B|Colonia, N.J.), Noriahna Pilger (Fr.|F|Suffern, N.Y.), Madison Lepage (Fr.|GK|Courtice, Ontario Canada), Fanta Diop (Jr.|F|Manhattan, N.Y.) and Audrey Fenninger (Fr.|B|New City, N.Y.) have been brought in to help give STAC the additional talent and depth necessary to make a deeper run in the postseason.
Head Coach Fredy Guiran returns to the sideline for his second season leading STAC, with Assistant Coaches Monique Howe, Adrian Palau and Oscar Galvis also returning. Guiran welcomes Janbi Kaghado to the staff, as an assistant coach for the 2025 campaign.
St. Thomas Aquinas College will begin its 2025 campaign at Spartan Field on Friday, September 5, when the maroon and gold hosts No. 6 nationally ranked Franklin Pierce University in a 3:00 p.m. kickoff.
