STAC Women's Soccer Gives Back To Local Community At Rockland Boulders Game

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Soccer team, fresh off an early morning scrimmage, took time from their busy preseason training schedule to give back to the local community, and assist the Rockland Boulders Baseball team in various game operations duties during the Boulders Saturday evening home Can-Am League contest versus the New Jersey Jackals at Palisades Credit Union Park.

On Disco Night, with 6,700 plus fans in attendance, members of the 2018 Spartan squad were assigned a myriad of game day tasks; including selling 50/50 raffle tickets, supervising the ballpark's mini golf course, assisting fans with customer service questions, and getting fans pumped up and loud through promotional t-shirt and frisbee tosses just to name a few of the important responsibilities the team had.

"This was a great opportunity for these young women to experience what it is like to volunteer not only in the local communty, but also for a professional sports team.", remarked Brad Sarno, STAC Coordinator of Athletics & Student Activities Programming, who also serves as Rockland Boulders DJ during their season. "To have these athletes give their time and talents to assist the Boulders on one of the biggest night's of their season, while preparing for their own upcoming season, is a testament to the hard work, dedication and character that these women all possess."

Sarno also stated "Many of these student-athletes are studying to one day receive degrees in Business, Communication Arts and Sports Management, which could lead to potential career paths in sports, and tonight was a chance for this group to see a first class organization at work, an organization that has hired many St. Thomas Aquinas College students as interns and employees."

The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Soccer team would like to thank everyone in the Rockland Boulders Organization for allowing them to be a part of Saturday night's festivities.
