Women's Lacrosse Downed by Southern Connecticut State, 25-1

Sparkill, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Lacrosse team dropped a 25-1 decision to Southern Connecticut State University on Tuesday afternoon at Spartan Field.

STAC falls to 4-12 on the season, while SCSU improves to 9-7.

Charlotte Luquer tallied her third goal of the season to lead the Spartans' offense on the day, with Katelyn Cerrato picking up her 17th helper. Goalie Lilah Magenheimer (L, 4-9) got the start in net for the maroon and gold and stopped 11 of 36 shots faced.

Meanwhile, Southern Connecticut State was led by Amelia Mansfield, who tallied four goals and an assist, while Abagail Nolan added a hat trick. Teammates Macy Vail (2 goals, 2 assists), Rebecca Sibley (2 goals, 1 assist), Hannah Hathway (2 goals, 1 assist), Allie Welder (2 goals, 1 assist), Sofia Zumbrunn (2 goals, 1 assist), Taryn Ugrin (2 goals, 1 assist), Maddox Burton (1 goal, 7 assists), Jordan Fisher (1 goal, 2 assists), Allie Palmer (1 goal, 2 assists), McKenzie Schindler (1 goal), Gabriella Smith (1 goal) and Bailey McDermott (1 goal) all added to the totals both on the scoreboard and the scoresheet. Goalie Caelan Conners (W, 9-7) got the start in net for the Owls and turned aside 4 of 5 shots faced in the first half, before fellow netminder Kiley Nolan took over for the final 30 minutes of action and stopped all three shots fired her way.
