Waterbury, Conn. - Hailey Galison returned to action with a vengeance on Saturday afternoon, scoring five goals, including the game winning and insurance goals in the final minutes of St. Thomas Aquinas College's 12-10 Women's Lacrosse victory over Post University at LaMoy Field.

Hailey Galison led the Spartans' offense by netting five goals. Meanwhile, Katelyn Cerrato scored twice and added four helpers on the afternoon and Jada Garcia tallied a pair of goals herself. Freshmen Morgan VanDover and Lily Schommer each picked up the first goals of their respective collegiate careers. Goalie Lilah Magenheimer (W, 4-8) got the start in the cage for STAC and turned aside 11 of 21 shots faced.
On the other side of the field, Post was led by Jessica Krupnikoff and Alyssa Herb, who tallied three goals apiece. HOW IT HAPPENED:
STAC picked up four first quarter goals with Meghan Tarantino, Jada Garcia, Katelyn Cerrato and Morgan VanDover each finding the back of the net. Post would counter with a pair of goals from Alyssa Herb and Anna D'Angelo to make it 4-2 after one.
Scoring was at a premium in the second stanza, as Garcia and Hailey Galison would tally for the maroon and gold, with Ruby Mitchell's goal sandwiched in between for the Eagles to put St. Thomas Aquinas up by three at 6-3 at the half.
Post came out of the intermission with fire and passion, posting five of the eight total goals in the frame. Jessica Krupnikoff (3), Rylee Patfield and Herb struck for the hosts, but the Spartans answered with scores from Lily Schommer, Galison and Cerrato to make it a slim one-goal advantage for STAC at 9-8.
A Galison goal to start the final quarter put the visitors up by two, 10-8. However, Post continued to battle and received back-to-back goals from Herb and D'Angelo to tie the game up at 10-10 with just over three minutes left to play in regulation. In the final moments, Hailey Galison took over the contest and led the charge for the Spartans, ripping a pair of goals by the Post goalie to give her team a much-need 12-10 victory.
