Lady Spartans Stretch Streak to Six...Rolling Past SCSU, 19-9

The St. Thomas Aquinas women's lacrosse team beat Southern Connecticut State, 19-9 on Tuesday afternoon.  STAC is off to a program best 6-0 under 2nd year head coach Stephanie Hopkins. Genevieve Stickney continued her strong offensive output with 6 goals while Margaret Sharp added 3 goals and 1 assist.  Kaitlyn Lonergan had 9 saves in the win.

The Lady Spartans fell behind 3-1 in the early minutes of the first half, with Sharp scoring the first goal on a free position shot.  STAC rattled off 8 consecutive goals to take control of the first half. Alexis Serras scored 3 goals during that run along with 3 from Stickney and 2 from Sharp.  Serras and Stickney added two more first half goals to give STAC a 14-5 lead at the half.  

Kellie Kucinski opened the second half with two more STAC goals to keep the Lady Spartans rolling. Samantha Lowney and Victoria Gregson each chipped into the scoring action with second half goals. 

STAC will host Franklin Pierce on Sunday at 1:00 on their new home field.  This will be the inaugural game played on the new Spartan Fields.
