Deptford, N.J. - On Saturday and Sunday, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Bowling team competed in the Chestnut Hill Griffin Baker Classic which was held at Bowlero in Deptford, New Jersey. Day one competition consisted of five rounds of baker play, with one additional baker match for seeding on day two, for a total of six games. Total pinfall from those six contests determined which teams advanced to the best-of-seven championship match.
The maroon and gold showed major improvement throughout the weekend, highlighted by one of their highest baker games of the season with a 170 pinfall. The Spartans stepped up, trusted each other, and competed with confidence, which was exciting to see as the program continues to grow.
STAC is looking forward to building on this momentum when they compete closer to home in two weeks on February 21 and 22 at the Dr. Robert Cincotta Memorial. Coach Brianna Jones and the Spartans would love to see fans come out and show their support at Bowler City Lanes in Hackensack, New Jersey, as they continue to develop and push forward as a team.
