STAC Track & Field Hosts 2026 Spartan Invitational
Staten Island, N.Y. - On Friday, the St. Thomas Aquinas College Track & Field program hosted the tenth edition of the Spartan Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex. The invitational saw over 1,500 athletes take part in events, with 25 Division I, II and III institutions and community colleges all competing.
 
Headlining the Spartans performances were Darwin Almonte, who placed second in the 60 Meter Hurdles with a time of 8.24 and third in the 200 Meter Dash, clocking in at of 21.93. Both marks were the fastest times recorded by any ECC participant. Ryan Folmer took a victory in the Pole Vault event, clearing a height of 4.02m (13'2.25").
 
In addition, Victoria Maher continued her impressive indoor season with a third place finish in the Weight Throw, with a toss of 14.47 meters (47'5.75").
 
St. Thomas Aquinas returns to action next Friday, January 16, as the Spartans travel to the 168th Street Armory for the Ramapo College Opener. Events begin at 9:00 a.m. in New York City.
