New York, N.Y. - The St. Thomas Aquinas College Track and Field team returned to action Friday, competing in the Ramapo College Indoor Opener at the 168th Street Armory in New York City.
Headlining the Spartans performances were Justus Behne, who finished second in the 200 meter dash (22.05) and fourth in the 60 meter hurdles (8.46). Darwin Almonte placed third in the 200 meter dash (22.19), Francisco Stratico finished third in the Long Jump (6.88m/22'7") and Gavin Kopf, who placed second in the Weight Throw (15.61m/51'2.75") and fifth in the shot put (13.13m/43'1"). Newcomer Madison Chalfin made an immediate impact on the women's side of the ledger, taking a seventh place finish in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:25.18.
The STAC throws team returns to action on Saturday, January 17, as the Spartans head to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island for the Wagner College Invitational.
